During the holiday season, everything should be a little extra indulgent. Right now, it’s all about celebrating, reconnecting, enjoying traditions, and hunkering down through the cold. Our Gingerbread Latte made with JOI checks all of those boxes (and it’s nowhere near as basic as the drive-thru version).

Catching up with out-of-town friends at home (because #COVID) and need a special occasion beverage? Here’s your answer. Looking for the perfect cookie pairing for the family celebration? This is the ticket. Or, just need a caffeine boost to fuel your marathon gift shopping day? Yep, we’ve got you covered.

Gingerbread Iced Latte: The Better-For-You Holiday Drink from JOI and Oster Blend Active

Our Gingerbread Latte is the perfect homemade holiday season treat that won’t leave you in sugar coma. Just blend coffee and water with JOI plant base, a dap of vanilla extract, some seasonal cinnamon, ginger, allspice, sweetener of your choice, and ice for a creamy pick-me-up guaranteed to get you in the spirit. You can even sub the coffee for rooibos or chai tea for a lower-caffeine, higher-spice version. Alternatively, double down and sub the water for more coffee—we all need it sometimes.

And, no need to worry about this fancy drink adding to your holiday season stress. Just add all the ingredients to a convenient personal blender like the travel-friendly Oster Blend Active Rechargeable Portable Blender and you’ll have an indulgent treat ready in 30 seconds.

Here’s the recipe for our Gingerbread Iced Latte Made with JOI:

½ cup coffee (or use rooibos tea for a chai spin on this drink)

½ cup water (or substitute coffee / tea for a stronger latte)

2 Tablespoons JOI plant base (almond or cashew)

¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon

⅛ teaspoon ground ginger

Dash of ground allspice or clove powder

2 teaspoons date syrup (optional, or substitute maple syrup or honey, or try molasses if you are feeling extra indulgent and love the enhanced flavor)

Pinch of salt

  1. Add all ingredients other than ice to Blend Active and blend for at least 30 seconds (one cycle).
  2. Add ice and sip pure holiday goodness on the go!
