When you're craving a spicy, cheesy-ish dip that takes minutes to prepare, make this dip! Whether you're dunking chips or veggies in it, you just won't be able to stop. Luckily, this recipe is healthy-er and addictive. So make a double batch. Snack away!
What is "Buffalo Wing Sauce Dip"?
Not sure about you, but when we hear "Buffalo Hot Sauce", we think of two things:
1. Chicken Wings
2. Sports (mostly football)
But since we're plant-based company, we're thinking of swapping #1 with cauliflower or tofu. As to #2...well, whether you're a sports fan or not, this dip is a must serve on game day or your hang in the backyard with friends and family.
That's because this spicy, creamy dip brings all the delicious flavors of "buffalo hot sauce." But without the angry stomach and remorse of bygone days that comes with ingesting buckets of buffalo wings dipped in ranch dressing. Even if they are one of our favorite comfort foods.
Instead, get your buffalo "wing" sauce fix in a better-for-you faux "cheese" dip. For the best flavor, we love using hot sauce from Noble Made by the New Primal.
Sure, dunk those cauliflower florets. But we won't thumb our noses at tortilla chips either :)
Why is this recipe "better for you"?
Warning: omnivore alert: there's no denying that when you add shredded chicken, sour cream and shredded cheese to your slow cooker crock pot, you get a melted concoction that's hard to resist.
But often we're left with that "I'm never eating this again" feeling that lasts for days.
So, the next time a craving for that buffalo chicken dip recipe hits, make this instead.
Using JOI almond or cashew concentrate gets you that silky, cheesy mouthfeel, without the saturated fat and inflammation that comes with animal proteins. Bonus: it's packed with protein, fiber and healthy fats (no rotisserie chicken required)!
Generously seasoned with salt, soy sauce and some other staples from your spice drawer, your taste buds will become alive! Whip this up in minutes, top with some sliced green onions, and you are ready to serve!
Want to make it more textured? Add some corn kernels or shredded tofu to make it "chunky".
Take the nutritional punch to the next level by serving it with a variety of raw vegetables.
