JOI has always been customer-first. The thick, creamy concentrate you use in your cooking is proof it worked. What didn't quite work was the jar itself: spoon in, scrape, scrape again, and something always stuck around. Messy? A little. Worth it? Without question!

Still, we figured there had to be an easier way. So, we squeezed our packaging, literally.

The new bottles let you squeeze, swirl, or shake your JOI concentrate straight into your drink or recipe. Less scraping, more drizzling. Same base, easier squeeze, and the same creaminess and richness you came for.

What Actually Changed With JOI’s New Squeeze Bottles?

JOI has brought four of the products in new squeezable packaging: Almond base, Cashew base, organic hemp base, and organic peanut base. But we need to make it clear that these are new bottles with the familiar job. JOI did not reinvent the milk base, just the way we get it out. You still get the familiar plant milk concentrates. No nut or seed spreads. 

What's different is dispensing. Now you can squeeze the concentrates straight into a blender, drizzle them into a smoothie, whisk them into a recipe, or mix them with water for a quick plant milk. Natural separation is very normal when you blend the concentrate. 

It's a small format shift that adds up to easier access to the good stuff. No scooping, no mess, just squeeze and go.

Why Sustainable Milk Concentrate Packaging Is More Than a Bottle Shape

Sustainability is at the core of JOI. With our new packaging, we wanted to continue that legacy. But sustainable packaging is about far more than its shape. It starts with what is inside the package. Concentrate first, packaging second.

Because JOI products are concentrated, you add the water at home. That means more servings can fit into one package, and you only make what you need. 

Then comes the packaging. The old JOI jar format reduces packaging waste by roughly 85% compared with conventional plant milk cartons, while its bulk pails can reduce waste by up to 96%. 

For JOI, sustainability is far bigger than the recycling symbol.

Are Eco-Friendly Squeeze Bottles Actually Better?

Then why did we go for plastic squeezable packaging over glass jars? The answer is more nuanced because sustainability cannot be assured by material alone; how a package is made, used, and disposed of matters too. 

The new JOI’s Organic Hemp Base uses a recyclable BPA-free #4 LDPE bottle with a #5 PP cap. While Organic Peanut Base uses PET #1 with 25% post-consumer resin and a #5 PP cap. 

These eco-friendly squeeze bottles are lighter, easier to handle, less likely to break, and make product dispensing a lot easier. 

With the resin codes, we have taken sustainability to the next level. Lighter is useful, recyclable is useful, context still matters. Better packaging has to work after it reaches the kitchen too.

The Biggest Upgrade May Be What Happens in the Kitchen

The real upgrade starts when JOI gets to your kitchen. No glass to worry about, no spoon needed to dig through the jar. Just squeeze and go.

Whatever recipe you are following, squeeze it straight into your blender, whisk it into oatmeal, stir some into a sauce for extra creaminess, or drizzle it into your smoothie. Craving just one glass of plant milk? Squeeze, add water, and mix.

JOI recommends starting with 1–2 tablespoons of concentrate per cup of water, coffee, tea, or smoothie, then adjusting to taste.

What to Know Before Recycling the Bottle

Once the concentrates in the bottles are used, try not to toss them straight into the bin. Since JOI bottles aren’t all made of the same material, it’s smart to check the resin code first. Those tiny numbers show what kind of plastic was used and make recycling easier.

Separate the cap from the bottle and pop it off.

But note that "recyclable" doesn’t always mean "recycled" everywhere. The last step belongs to the local program. So, really, check the bottle, then check the bin rules.
