VEGAN CHOCOLATE FROSTING

Whether you’re dipping your donut in some JOI-filled coffee or spreading some alternative nut base icing (a la JOI) over your donut, we think you’ll be hard-pressed to find a way that JOI won't enhance your donut-eating experience. Enjoy this special donut with your friends and family. Or just by yourself. That's how we like it... donuts, almond milk, and our own thoughts about donuts and almond milk.

What's in it:

  • 1 cup of JOI
  • 3 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon of powder sugar
  • 1⁄2 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1⁄2 tablespoon melted coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon of water ( or more depending on desired consistency)
  • Pinch of salt

How it's made:

  1. In a bowl add JOI, maple syrup, coconut oil, and vanilla
  2. Whisk together
  3. Add sifted cocoa powder, powder sugar, and salt
  4. Mix together and add water last to reach desired consistency
  5. EnJOI!

Romesco Penne Pasta Made With JOI

Who’s in the mood for something carby, savory, and creamy? (Better question, who isn’t?) Look no further than this delectably satisfying and super easy to whip up penne recipe, which we’ve gone ahead and already veganized for you at the JOI kitchen. We’re taking comfort food to the next level, so you can feel fancy cooking up some simple dishes. You’re welcome.

Makes 4 servings

What’s in it:

  • 1 cup red peppers, roasted
  • 1 cup tomatoes, roasted
  • 4 cloves garlic, roasted
  • 1/4 cup JOI
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 TB red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup hazelnuts, toasted (plus extra to top)
  • 1/2 tsp salt pepper


How to make it:

For the sauce:
  1. Roast red peppers, tomatoes and garlic until blistered and browning.
  2. Place red peppers, tomatoes, garlic and JOI into blender and blend until large chunks have all been broken down.
  3. Add salt, pepper, vinegar and then drizzle in the oil while mixing together.
  4. Add hazelnuts and blend gently. Careful not to over-blend as you want to keep some granular consistency from the hazelnuts.
  5. Test for seasoning and adjust as necessary.


For the pasta:

  1. Cook noodles as per packaging instructions.
  2. Drain and then toss with the amount of desired sauce.
  3. Top with basil leaves and the crushed hazelnuts.
  4. EnJOI!

CREAMY VEGAN RANCH DRESSING

CREAMY VEGAN RANCH DRESSING
This ain't your grandma's ranch dressing! We've been having fun in our kitchen lately, testing various uses of JOI beyond milk. This ranch dressing is one of our favorites. 100% #vegan , #glutenfree and of course #delicious .

Makes 1 1/4 cup of dressing

What's in it:
  • 1/2 cup JOI almond base
  • 2/3 cup full fat coconut milk
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried or fresh dill
  • 1 tsp fresh chives (optional)
How's it made:
  1. Add JOI almond base and dry seasonings and spices into a bowl or blender
  2. Add coconut milk and lemon juice, and mix/blend until smooth
  3. Add fresh herbs if using, by quickly pulsing into the mixture or stirring in by hand
  4. Taste to adjust seasoning if necessary
  5. EnJOI as a dressing or dip
